This is something that every child in every class works on during the year, under the guidance of their class teachers. Children complete experiments and learn about the scientific world in a hands-on, collaborative and active way. They also learn about the scientific method in a progressive way as they make their way from Junior Infants to Second Class.
Thanks so much to Ms Kenny our science co-ordinator for all the work she put in during the year and for her time and effort in composing our entry and sending it off.

The award recognises the school's effort and achievement in involving children in hands on science experiences and linking this with maths, engineering, and ICT activities. We are proud to have won 13 successive DPSM awards, which is a significant result in itself, but particularly for a junior school. We will be entering the children's work again this year. The award involves whole school and classroom participation in science experiences and experiments, as well as school visits from different scientists including biologists, chemists, physicists and others involved in various scientific fields.
