We had lots of fun in school for Halloween. We went on our Witch's Walk around the local community and we also got to do some fun trick or treating in the hall with the Parents' Association! We also performed our Halloween poem "Oiche Shamhna" at the Halloween parade in the hall! We do lots of brain breaks in our class to help us be more active. Our school is working really hard to getting an Active flag and this week we discussed how our class is active. We love doing Go Noodles, Mario Brain Breaks on Youtube, our active good morning song each morning and doing our run on our active walkway daily. Check out our video below of us doing a Go Noodle to get our bodies moving in class! Exercise gives us energy! For the first day of Maths Week, we created 2D shape Haunted Houses! We also started our estimation jar challenge and our Maths Blast mental maths challenges in the morning too! Maths is one of our favourite subjects in Room 9!
We played some new Active Halloween Games in P.E. this week! We played Trick or Treat, Zombie Tag and Halloween Witch Relays! Being active is really important in our class! For the week of October, we have Maths 4 Fun once a week. We love having parents in to help us with some fun maths games in our classroom! We play games like snakes and ladders, bingo, roll and add and fill the jar. We also get to use iPads to play games at one of the stations too! We returned to school after our summer holidays today. We were so excited to meet our new teacher Ms. Walsh. She is new to our school this year so we found out lots of facts about her and designed teacher profiles about her. Check out our Teacher Portraits we drew of Ms. Walsh!
