Before midterm we were lucky enough to get into the Halloween Spirit by having a dress up day. We got to come into school in our costumes and go on a Witch Walk around our local area with thanks to Ms Brown and Ms Kenny for helping us do it safely. We had a special Halloween assembly on zoom where all the classes performed a song or a poem it was lovely to see all the other boys and girls (even if it was in a socially distant way.) We especially liked doing our Halloween art and making our witches hats that Ms Gilligan hung from the ceiling.
Last Friday we celebrated our annual Maths week in style. We had a dress up day where the boys and girls in St. Paul's JNS dressed up as something Maths related. All of the children in Room 12 made an amazing effort, lots of super creative and innovative ideas. We had calculators, dominoes, money trees, and Mathmagicians in with us!! A big thank you to the Grown-Ups at home who helped make these costumes possible.
A big well done to all the boys and girls in Room 12 for the month of September. They adjusted so well to all the new routines we have in our classroom and are working very hard to keep themselves and their friends safe and happy. However, there was one student in Room 12 who REALLY impressed us this month - his hard work, positive attitude and teamwork matched with his attendance, punctuality and super homework made him a very deserving student! A big well done to C - congratulations on Pupil of the Month!
In the month of September, while getting used to the new words like "pods", "bubble", "sanitise" we have also been learning a lot about Pablo Picasso. See below some of the creative work displayed outside our classroom for everybody to see. We used different types of coloured paper and card to layer and mix shapes to create self portraits just like Picasso. I think we definitely have some up and coming artists in Room 12!
Welcome Back Room 12!
A big welcome back to all the children and families in Room 12, we are so excited to be back in school again and getting back into our school routine. At the end of our first week having settled back in, we decided to try our hand at some portraits. We were calling these 'Pod Portraits' and each person had to draw somebody else in their pod groups. It was great fun for the children especially when the portraits were given accessories and styled up to look just like their friends!
First Class with Ms Munnelly
