We held a special celebration in our school for Grandparents Day. The boys and girls told stories of what makes their Grandparents special. We held a prayer service and made gifts for our Grandparents. We remembered our grandparents who live nearby, those who live far away and those who have died. Thank your Grandparents for all you do.
In Maths we are learning all about the number five. We have made sets of five, went on a number 5 hunt around our school and have practised drawing the number 5. Here are some of our favourite number 5 songs. We've been practising the nursery rhyme Hey Diddle Diddle for January. We've enjoyed listening to the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We're sequenced the story, talked about what we like to eat for our breakfast and imagined what we would do if we were Goldilocks. On Friday we made porridge and enjoyed the tasty treat with jam and honey!! Have a look at the photos of us enjoying the porridge. Listen to our favourite song about Goldilocks and also the story as Gaeilge. A huge well done to all the boys and girls in Room 1 for settling in SO well to Junior Infants. We've had so much fun in our room, playing games, listening to stories and learning lots of new things.
So far we've worked on our colouring, started to use a pencil, learned all about the number one, practised cutting, played lots of new games and so much more. We enjoy lunch time and playing on the yard with our new friends. We've also started GAA with Chris every Friday. |
We are now in first class in Room 12. In our class, there are 11 girls and 11 boys.
