Letter to Parents/Guardians
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope you are all keeping well and staying safe at home. I understand that trying to juggle home life, remote learning and working from home are not easy tasks right now. We must all do what we can to protect each other, our families, your children and school staff from Covid-19 and for now home is the safest place for everyone to be.
The Department of Education may give schools further guidance for pupils with significant additional needs in the coming days and we will be in touch with those families when we have more clarity on this. For now, it is anticipated that remote learning will continue for all pupils this week.
All the staff here in St. Paul's JNS are really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to school again when it is safe to do so. In the mean time please stay safe and take good care of each other.
Kind regards,
Elaine Mc Nulty.

Ms. McCarthy's Retirement
While there is a great sense of excitement in the school today in anticipation of the Christmas holidays, there is also a sense of sadness at the retirement of Ms Noirín McCarthy. Her dedication to her pupils, warmth and sense of fun in her classroom will be greatly missed. In her long career at St. Paul's, Ms McCarthy has influenced the lives of 100s of children, many of whom have sent warm wishes in recent days.
The staff and pupils of St. Paul's JNS would like to wish our wonderful Deputy Principal, teacher, colleague and friend health and happiness in her retirement. |

Wellbeing Fortnight
There has been a strong focus on wellbeing throughout the school since the start of September. Over the next two weeks we will take the opportunity to review, refocus and embed wellbeing practices within the school. Welcome Back
It was great to see all of the children in school today, ready to get stuck in to the second half of the term. We heard wonderful news about the exciting and interesting ways that some of our pupils celebrated Halloween. There was 'trick or treat' trips to kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms and any other room that has a door! People got really creative with Halloween Hunts in the garden. It was great to hear that the children had a happy and safe Halloween. It was certainly one that they'll never forget.
Check out your child's class page to get an idea of how Halloween was celebrated in St. Paul's JNS.

Safe Return to School Update
14/08/2020
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are looking forward to welcoming all of the children back to school on Monday August 31st. We are currently working on our Covid Response Plan, to ensure that the school will be a safe, secure and happy environment for all. In June the staff met to identify possible challenges and procedures for the upcoming school year. The Government Roadmap, published at the end of July has given us some clarity on what is expected.
As you can imagine, there are a lot of things to consider and we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we finalise the plan. When the Covid Response Plan has been ratified by the Board of Management we will ensure that all parents and guardians are informed.
Best regards,
Elaine McNulty and Staff

20th April 2020
Dear Parents/Guardians,
In ordinary times we would currently be listening to enthusiastically told stories about wonderful Easter holidays. In lieu of that we have made plans to ensure that the children can engage with their teacher and their learning.
The teachers have worked together and compiled a body of work for this week. New work will be uploaded every Monday. We understand that every household is managing the current situation in their own way and will therefore engage with the suggested work as appropriate for their child and family.
To access the work, go to the 'School Closure Links for Learning' page and select the appropriate class level. Teacher email addresses are located at the top of the page. Please email your child's teacher with your child's full name as the subject. This will let us know who is able to access the work and we can reach out to others as needed.
We look forward to hearing from you,
The Staff of St. Paul's JNS

School Closure Update
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope you are all keeping safe and well. I know that, like all of us here in St. Paul's JNS, you are very much looking forward to a return to normal. Hopefully, if we all continue with our social distancing, hand-washing and cough etiquette, that will be sooner rather than later.
There is no doubt that this is a challenging and worrying time for us all. We do not in any way want school or school work to add to those burdens. We are acutely aware that the health and wellbeing of our pupils and school family is of the utmost importance. In these unprecedented times I can assure you that we in St. Paul's will do everything we can to help and support our pupils, you their parents/guardians and each other through these strange times.
Minister McHugh has this morning announced that schools will remain closed after March 29th. We have not yet been given a proposed date for this extension. Should this closure remain in place post-Easter please be assured that we will prepare lessons for the boys and girls through our school blog. Please keep an eye on the website for any further updates.
In the mean time please take care. E. Mc Nulty and staff.
