We had a great day last Thursday in school. Sports Day was finally here. The weather was lovely. We did our races in the morning. We ran, hopped, skipped, jumped and even did the potato and spoon race.
After little break we had our activities. We did some orienteering, relays, hurdles and GAA with David and Chris from O'Toole's.
After a well deserved lunch break, it was back out again for ...... ICECREAM!
We all got a St Paul's Sports Day medal to take home.
It really was the best day!
We have been busy working as scientists in Room 16. We have been examining different materials and describing them. We experimented with paper, tinfoil, cotton wool, bubble wrap, greaseproof paper and cardboard. We had to guess if they would absorb or repel water. Then, after we made our guesses, we had to try it out using special water droppers and coloured water. It was great fun and we only made a little mess!
Bhí an-spórt againn i rith Seachtain na Gaeilge i mbliana.
We had great fun during Seachtain na Gaeilge this year.
Ghléasamar suas sna dathanna glas, oráiste agus bán.
We dressed up in green, white and orange.
Rinneamar suaitheantais do Lá 'le Pádraig le cárta.
We made badges with card for St Patrick's Day.
Chuamar amach sa chlós agus rinneamar an Haka Gaelach le chéile.
We went out to the yard and we performed our Haka Gaelach together.
We are all so happy to be back together. We got new places to sit in our classroom and it is great fun to be in a new pod. We had 6 birthdays while school was closed. We wished Guste, Alex, Daniel, Cian, Sophie and Zoe a belated happy birthday.
On Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day. We listened to stories and made our own bookmarks.
We are also celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge this week. We are trying to use as much of our Gaeilge as we can. We got beautiful new Gaeilge signs for our yard. We are learning some Irish songs and the Haka Gaelach.
Is breá linn an Ghaeilge! Bain triail aisti!
We've been having a great week in Room 16. We posted a letter to Santa telling him what we are thankful for. We had a Zoom call with the man himself, right in our very own classroom! Then, on Thursday, we had a Teddy Bear's Picnic with Attendance Ted and all our favourite teddies! Ted had left us some treats on our table when we came in from yard. Thank you Ted!
