We had a great day last Thursday in school. Sports Day was finally here. The weather was lovely. We did our races in the morning. We ran, hopped, skipped, jumped and even did the potato and spoon race. After little break we had our activities. We did some orienteering, relays, hurdles and GAA with David and Chris from O'Toole's. After a well deserved lunch break, it was back out again for ...... ICECREAM! We all got a St Paul's Sports Day medal to take home. It really was the best day! We have been busy working as scientists in Room 16. We have been examining different materials and describing them. We experimented with paper, tinfoil, cotton wool, bubble wrap, greaseproof paper and cardboard. We had to guess if they would absorb or repel water. Then, after we made our guesses, we had to try it out using special water droppers and coloured water. It was great fun and we only made a little mess! Bhí an-spórt againn i rith Seachtain na Gaeilge i mbliana. We had great fun during Seachtain na Gaeilge this year. Ghléasamar suas sna dathanna glas, oráiste agus bán. We dressed up in green, white and orange. Rinneamar suaitheantais do Lá 'le Pádraig le cárta. We made badges with card for St Patrick's Day. Chuamar amach sa chlós agus rinneamar an Haka Gaelach le chéile. We went out to the yard and we performed our Haka Gaelach together. We have been having great fun playing games this week. We are matching our tricky words, blending our sounds and practising our writing.
