Maths Week 2017 was from the 14th - 22nd of October. The whole school have been involved. Classes were having lots of fun and games learning about maths. We were counting, doing maths trails and some classes even made their own maths puzzles and jig-saws. Maths is great fun!
The Army came to the school on Tuesday 6th October. Two officers presented the school with the National Flag and a copy of the 1916 Proclamation. We have been learning the words to the National Anthem in preparation for the visit. Ms McDermott played some Irish music on her fiddle, and the officers told us how to treat the National Flag carefully and respectfully. The oldest boy and the youngest girl in the school were presented with the Flag. Ms Chuinneagáin was presented with the Proclamation. It was really interesting to hear all about the Flag from the Army men. Some boys and girls got to ask questions. The officers told us to never write on the Flag or let it fall on the ground. Some of our parents and grandparents attended the ceremony too. Here are some pictures from the morning. We hope you had a good Christmas and we wish you a happy new year. To mark the feast of the epiphany on Tuesday 6th January we will be going over to St. Paul's Church for a special prayer service at 11.00 am.
