We had a super day visiting Dublin Zoo as part of our Discover Primary Science programme. We saw lots of animals including lions, tigers, monkeys, orangutans, ring tailed lemurs and sealions. We were very luck to see Dublin Zoo's newest animal arrival, the Asian Dhole. After lots of fun in the playground, we met the Education Team in Dublin Zoo who taught us lots of interesting facts about animals in the African Plains. We saw Heidi the Hippo and had lunch while looking at the giraffes, zebras and Rhino. We even learned how long a giraffes tongue is!
Take a look at the photos from our day at the Zoo! The children in room 4 had so much fun this month measuring the weight of different objects. We used cubes to measure weight, as well as a weighing scales to weigh items in grams. We also measured the length and width of furniture and the class room using our handspan and footprints. Maths is so much fun!
