During our School Concert, our class performed the famous 'Ireland's Call' in Irish. Well done Senior Infants. What a performance! Our fantastic Traditional Music VisitorsWe were very lucky to get a visit from some very talented Traditional Music players, including Ms.McDermott one of our Junior Infant's Teachers and her son! We had lots of fun.
World Book DayThe 3rd of March was World book day. The children read new books from the classroom, they had shared reading time with some first class children and we did a teacher swap for the last half hour of school.
Below are some pictures from the shared reading with the First Class. This week we were looking at Designing and Making a Tower in Science class. The children had a challenge to build a tower that can stand unsupported. They had to draw and design it first and choose what material in the classroom they should use.
After the lovely Christmas break, the children brought in one new toy they received from Santa. There was great excitement in the classroom. In the morning, during activity time, the children were allowed to play with their new toy in the 'Toy Shop'.
The following week, we looked at toys from the past. The children brought in toys that their parents and grandparents played with. They did a show and tell in front of the class. Below are some examples of the children and the old toys they brought in. Have a look at our Christmas decorations around the classroom.
The children are posing for our Christmas Globe decorations which you can see an example of below. The pictures at the bottom of the page are of the children sending their letters to Santa. There was great excitement in the School when some elves delivered the post box. |
