For science week, we carried out an experiment with vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. We put bicarbonate of soda and vinegar into a bottle and placed a balloon on top. The balloon inflated which showed us that when vinegar and bicarbonate of soda react they produce a gas. It was this gas which caused the balloon to inflate.
As part of science week, we carried out an experiment to see if we could walk on air! We blew up 8 balloons and placed a table on top. We then got different children to stand on the table. We managed to get 6 children on the table without bursting any balloons! Our teacher even had a go! We had great fun! We did an experiment to highlight the importance of washing and sanitising our hands correctly! We got four slices of bread. One slice was touched with dirty hands. Another was touched with sanitised hands. The third was rubbed on a table and the fourth was left untouched. This slice was our control. Look at the pictures below to see our results!
