April Showers Bring May Flowers!
Over the month of April, we learned all about the honey bee. We read about it in our reader. We watched videos about a beekeeper showing us their hive. We wrote lots of facts about bees in our copies and finally we completed group projects about bees!
We learned about the importance of bees in helping to pollinate our flowers. Without bees we wouldn't have lots of the yummy fruit and vegetables we eat!
We also planted wild flower seeds in our school garden for our bees. We look forward to watching them grow over the coming months.
Sowing our Wild Flower Seeds
World Earth Day!
To mark World Earth day on Thursday the 22nd of April, our class went litter picking in the area around our school. We managed to collect a huge amount of rubbish! It highlighted us the importance of minding the area in which we live in.
Seachtain na Gaeilge
As part of Seachtain na Gaeilge, our visiting teacher Ms Downes taught us all about traditional Irish instruments. She even played us a lovely tune on her concertina!
Bubble Bomb Experiment!
We made a bubble bomb using vinegar, baking soda, warm water and a sandwich bag. We shook all the ingredients in the bag. The vinegar and baking soda reacted causing the bag to explode!
Welcome to room 11's page! We are in Second Class and our teacher is Ms. O'Connor. Keep an eye on our page to see all the fun and exciting things we get up to this year!
