Seachtain na Gaeilge & St Patrick's Day

13/3/2018

It has been a busy term here in St Paul's. As well as all the usual learning and activities going on, we also had three snow days, which the children really enjoyed. There were plenty of neighbourhood snowmen and snowball fights according to our informed sources!

As the term winds down, we have a lot of activities on this week and next. On Tuesday 13th at 7pm, the Sacrament of Penance for Second Class took place, a very important step for those taking the Sacrament of Communion in May.

On Thursday 15th the children marched in green around Ayrfield on their sponsored walk. Thanks to all those who sponsored individual children, the school is always grateful for the generous support they receive from the local community.

On Thursday the children continued celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge with live music and a special visit from some Ceolteoiri in the morning and their own Ceolchoirm (concert) later on in the day, including some fantastic Irish dancing that the children diligently practiced for weeks now.

On Friday the 16th the school closed at noon to facilitate Child Protection Training for the whole staff.

The children will be taking part in some Easter activities the week before the holidays, kindly facilitated by our wonderful Parents' Association. The activities include an Easter Egg Hunt around the school. More detail on these to come. The school will then close on Friday 23rd at noon for the Easter holidays.

UPDATE: Well done to our Easter raffle winners, Kara in Room 3, Mia in Room 5, Bobby in Room 9, and Lilly in Room 11. Special thanks to the Parents' Association for all their work in organising the Easter prizes and activities, which are much appreciated by the children and school community.
