Room 8 welcomed spring with this beautiful floral display. We love the pop of colour on the corridor.
The children from 1st and 2nd Class worked with the children from Junior Infants and Senior Infants to show the importance of school community. It was great to make some new friends from different classes. They really did a wonderful job! The children attended a whole school assembly on Friday, celebrating friendship and love. We changed to a red and pink uniform for the day that was in it! Older classes visited the younger children for some art and conversation. On Friday, the children are invited to wear pink and red to school to celebrate St. Valentine's Day. We will think about our family and friends and how we show love and respect to the special people in our lives. Well done to all the boys and girls in 2nd class who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time on Thursday evening. It was a very special occasion for all. Thank you to Fr. Deegan and his fellow priests who helped to make it such a calm and peaceful ceremony. Well done to the boys and girls in 2nd Class who took part in the TMS Talent Showcase on Sunday afternoon. They recited the poem 'Homework, Oh Homework' with great energy and expression. A special word of thanks to Ms Dunne for preparing the children for the performance and to the parents/guardians who attended the event. Many of the children from room 5 and room 8 will share in the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time on Thursday evening at 7.30. We wish them and their families the best of luck on this very special occasion. The school was buzzing today with all the grandparents who came to visit for Grandparents Day. We hope that you all had a wonderful time with your precious grandchildren. A big thank you to Fr Deegan, our SNAs who decorated the hall so beautifully, Ms McDermott who coordinated the prayer service, Robert who prepared the hall, the parents who provided tea and coffee, the children, and all members of staff for making the day such a happy and memorable event. We are looking forward to celebrating Grandparents Day on Wednesday 29th, as part of Catholic Schools Week. Grandparents, do you have some interesting memories from your school days? Don't forget to share them with your grandchild on Wednesday. See you then. Everyone in the school is excited to be taking part in the Super Troopers health programme. Each child has a Health Homework Journal which outlines a new activity to complete each day. The children can also record other activities, e.g. dance class, football. Keep active, eat healthy and stay happy! |
