Sam Maguire comes to visit

We had two very exciting visitors to the school today. David Byrne, a Dublin Senior footballer, brought us the Sam Maguire Cup that the Dublin team won in October last year after a replay against Mayo. We all wore our Dublin colours and sang Molly Malone for him. He loved hearing us sing. He told us all about how he started playing for Dublin and encouraged us to play lots of sport. Some of the children got to ask him questions and he thought our questions were really good. We asked him about the cup and how he got to be a footballer for Dublin. Here are some pictures of the day.
