We are finally into the month of May, and have two months of school left this academic year. The weeks left are filled with lots of activity as usual, and some important events, including the Sacrament of Holy Communion for children in Second Class. The pupils taking the sacrament are preparing diligently with their teachers and are very much looking forward to the event.
We also have school tours and our school Sports Day coming up, as well as our usual work in class and of course hopefully enjoying some summer sun at break times and after school.
The children really enjoyed participating in Active Schools Week recently, and enjoyed doing their active homework instead of any written work. Hopefully these levels of activity can be maintained and even increased, particularly now that we will have some warmer weather to come.
Some of the children participated in Junior Parkrun in St Anne's Park as part of Active Schools Week and this continues every Sunday at 9.30am so if you haven't yet become involved then it is something to keep in mind. It is free and fun, with the emphasis on participation and keeping active. For more information see www.parkrun.ie/stannes-juniors/
